“Every pound we raise can change someone’s life – that’s why I keep going.”
Their Story
Jensen Buchan is an extraordinary 9-year-old who set himself a challenge that would test even the most seasoned adult cyclists. On the longest day of the year, during a heatwave with temperatures soaring above 30°C, Jensen cycled an incredible 76 miles from Shrewsbury to Barmouth — a goal he had planned and dreamed of achieving for over two years with his dad.
The Achievement
Completing the gruelling ride in 13.5 hours, climbing over 3,600 feet of elevation, Jensen showed remarkable determination, resilience and focus beyond his years. Entirely self- motivated, he never doubted himself and pushed through physical and mental barriers to accomplish something truly valiant.
The Impact
Jensen raised an outstanding £2,808.75 for Little Stars and The Shrewsbury Rotary Club, supporting children and families in need — causes he chose himself because of the difference they make. His achievement has inspired his school, community and countless others, proving that with belief, planning and courage, young people can achieve the extraordinary.
