Annabel Remmer

2026 Finalist – Dare to Dream

“Dreams are just goals waiting to happen – you just have to believe.”

Their Story

Annabel Remmer, known as Annie, is an inspiring 17-year-old who continues to make a remarkable impact on those around her. At just 13, Annie was diagnosed with bone cancer and later lost her left leg. Before this, she loved skiing and surfing—and with determination and courage, she taught herself to return to the sports she loves, refusing to let her circumstances define her.

The Achievement

Annie competes at an exceptionally high level in both amputee football and swimming. She recently began training towards the GB Paralympic swimming team and, in November 2024, won the Golden Boot at the Amputee Football World Cup in Colombia. Alongside her sporting success, Annie has also modelled at Birmingham and London Fashion Week, all while excelling academically and successfully completing her GCSEs.

The Impact

Beyond her personal achievements, Annie is deeply committed to supporting others. She works closely with several charities, helping and mentoring younger people who are facing similar challenges, including supporting amputee football teams and offering encouragement through shared experience. Despite everything she has achieved, Annie remains a grounded, caring, and supportive friend—balancing her many talents with humility, resilience, and a determination that continues to inspire.
