Taylor Lewis

2026 Finalist – Amazing Achievement

“I want to show other kids that they can do amazing things too.”

Their Story

Taylor Lewis is an extraordinarily brave 11-year-old boy who has faced life-changing challenges from a very young age. At just eight months old, he became critically ill and was rushed to hospital, an experience that led to the loss of both his legs and all the fingers on his hands. Since then, Taylor has lived with ongoing health challenges and an uncertain future, yet he meets every day with a smile, determination, and an unbreakable spirit.

The Achievement

Despite everything he has endured—and while preparing for what will be his 97th surgery—Taylor never lets his circumstances hold him back. Last year, he amazed everyone by choosing to shave his head to raise money for the me&dee charity, which has supported his family and many others across Derbyshire. Through this selfless act, Taylor raised an incredible £2,600. This year, he pushed himself even further by taking on an indoor skydive to raise even more funds, all while continuing to pursue his passion for table tennis and setting his sights on the Paralympics.

The Impact

Taylor’s courage, generosity, and unstoppable energy inspire everyone around him. He fundraises not for recognition, but so other families facing unimaginable challenges can receive the same support he did. Living with disabilities while still embracing childhood, dreaming big, and giving back so selflessly, Taylor is a shining example of resilience and kindness—and a truly extraordinary young person.
