“I never give up, no matter how hard things get.”
Their Story
Bluebell Baxter was born with exomphalos, a rare condition that left her liver and bowel outside her body, and she was given less than a 10% chance of surviving her first day. In her first months of life, Bluebell endured multiple cardiac arrests, serious infections, and major surgeries, spending nearly 14 months in hospital—almost 200 days of that in intensive care. Through every challenge, Bluebell’s resilience and smile never faded, and today she is a happy five-year-old who has started school and made a full medical recovery.
The Achievement
Against extraordinary odds, Bluebell survived and overcame life-threatening complications that would test even the strongest adults. Her journey from critical illness to full recovery is a remarkable achievement that reflects immense bravery, determination, and strength beyond her years.
The Impact
Bluebell’s story is a powerful source of hope for children and families facing long and uncertain medical journeys. Her resilience and courage inspire others to believe in possibility, proving that even the smallest fighters can achieve the most amazing outcomes.
